Pastor Pritam and Faith Singh are Fijian nationals (of Indian decent) who have been called to lead CRC Sigatoka and care for the community. They have a particular heart for the Fijian Indians who are bound by the very tangible oppression of the Hindu faith. They have witnessed Jesus work miraculously in the minds and bodies of many Hindus and have seen a large number of people baptised and declare Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
Part of the world wide CRC denomination (Christian Revival Crusade), CRC Sigatoka is located in the village of Cuvu located just outside the regional town of Sigatoka in Fiji’s south west. Although situated in an idyllic location on Fiji’s coral coast, this church is surrounded by many homes that struggle to provide even basic nutrition and sanitation.
CRC Sigatoka runs a pre-school and provides training for some local residents in church leadership. The church is expanding quickly and is in the process of raising funds for a larger building. However, in an economy where the average wage is AUD$2 per hour, there are many, many needs within the church and local community. The initial intention is to raise funds for Pastor Pritam and Faith so they can continue their ministry fruitfully and to invest into other leaders who can also be released to serve. The longer term intention is to raise capital to take advantage of Fiji’s rich natural resources so that self-sustaining enterprise can be established.
